This document is a posotive example of my goal setting for school. Using this goal setting sheet is very helpful for using at school. It is a great reminder of how to get things done when and how. Another good thing about this is the fact that it is helpful to keep in your binder or locker so I will see it frequently to remind me of important tasks that need to be done. The next step I would use to finish this process of goal setting is to keep adding more to my goals and to keep building up! So obviously, the process will never end. I learned to be productive with my school work and also other work from outside of school.

Demonstrates growth and competence in:

communication tools, email, chat, discussions, telephone, texting, networking tools, web, integration of platforms and applications

My Monroe Doctrine power point is a demonstration of how I know how to use power point. I did not include words in my presentation. I did this because the images in the power point make you think more about what the speaker is saying. I inserted photos from different websites. I found it difficult to be able to get across to my audience the facts about the Monroe Doctrine so that they would be able to determine whether or not the Doctrine should still be in act. I learned throughout using Technology tools that I am able to do much more than it was coming off as. I was able to edit power points during the presentation and I found that to be very resourceful. Next time I will use the power points to a better advantage.

Communication Process

Demonstrates growth and competence in:
public presentation of self, interpersonal relationships (peers, family, teachers, mentors), public speaking

This speech is an example of how I have grown to be able to write and present better speeches. I found that during this school year I have been able to elaborate more and more and use more complex ways to present my speech. I found it difficult when I had to relate my power point to my speech. Telling a story basically, wasn't really my strength. But my oral presentations have helped me grow to be more prepared and use more examples and class participants to help while I am speaking, I enjoyed receiving their input. Next time I write a speech, I would make it longer, which I saw to be better for other presenters. I learned throughout this year by looking at my old speeches and presentations that elaboration and relating to your visual aid are key to a good presentation.

Collaboration and Community

Demonstrates growth and competence in:
workplace expectations/skills/abilities, workplace resources, collaboration and teamwork, decision making, problem solving, creativity, navigating the community,
civic engagement (leadership, social skill, politeness, task skill, helpfulness, diversity, clarity, success of outcomes)

Research and Assessment Tools

Demonstrates growth and competence in:
library skills and information literacy, search strategies, evaluating sources, mathematical reasoning, scientific method, data presentation and interpretation, rubrics, assessment, reflection

My evidence of my knowledge of how to use research and assessment tools is very useful to my everday school career. I chose to upload my Unit three works cited because it demonstrates how I can use research tools. This works cited is an example of all the internet sources and book resources I use to create my projects correctly. I enjoyed using different resources to find out a lot of information. I found it difficult to cite the publishers of the websites and other resources. What worked was bibme.org. It was a very reliable source to find out the publishers and authors. What I would do differently is to use more reliable resources to find information although the resources I used are reliable I could have found better sources. I learned that I could use much better resources to find information but I did find out much history throughout the process.
